Evaluation Question 2

How does your media product represent particular social

The film HIDDEN shows 3 teenagers who do not have any jobs and are trying to get their lives on track. They are shown as being 'alienated' from the society that they live in and find it hard to fit in.

The feedback that I have received from people who have seen my film is mostly positive. We targeted an audience which is mostly teens and young adults. The teens believe that all 3 characters are stereotyped in a correct way as their actions allow students to relate to their actual lives. However, some liked the way that I wasn't sterotyped to be the criminal and I was the one who was into my books and Lukas was the one shown as the guy who stole money from others. This is because in today's day and age a lot of young black boys are stereotyped into being in gangs and stealing whilst white guys are more sensible and seen to be the ones into their books.

Lukas- The one who was the 'bad guy' and was tempeted to get his things by stealing.

Barnabas-The one who had ambitions to be a Basketballer but knew he had to get his education first to be 'safe'.

Kay- The girl who was a dropout and had to start looking for a job at a young age.

Evaluation Question 4

Who would be the audience for your media product?

The audience for my film would be aimed at 15-21 year olds because our film is based on 3 teenagers which are struggling to live their lives. A lot of teens in london have stuggles of living their life in and out of school so many would be able to relate to the story that me and my group have put across. One character is unemployed, one is trying to get to university and the other is shop lifting. The audience that we have targeted our film at even though some may not live the life the 3 character live would be able to relate in one way or another.

Evaluation Question 5

How did you attract/address your audience?

My film starts of with me running and throwing a basketball. From this the audience can immediately see the misé en scene which is an estate with a basketball court. Many teens in London can already be attracted to my film as this is what they are surrounded by in and around London. We are then led into the two other characters who is a boy and a girl, the boy being the thief and the girl being the one who is looking for a job whilst being addicted to smoke at a young age. Teens would be attracted to this as they are faced with the challenges that all three characters whether it being ambitious like my character, falling into temptation like Lukas' character or being lazy like Kay's character.

The audience could also relate as the areas we filmed in is very much like any London estate and even kids who do not live in estates can relate as we film in streets also. The sound also makes our film relatable to more teens than we would expect as we use an American soundtrack rather than English.

This is our poster for our film and we have also put ratings on the poster so it attracts more people to it.
